9/26/2019 Color ThemeLet's all get on the same page when it comes to color. We can use the link below to create a color scheme. We will all use the same HTML codes when we edit backsplashes, or insert colors into our yearbook, this will include our cover art as well. In the end, having consistent colors, fonts, and layouts, will give our book unity. Team Evaluations: End of this weekAt the end of this week, you will be asked to participate in team evaluations. Your Editors in Chiefs will explain more in class. This will be similar to a performance evaluation you would have with your boss at a job. Your boss would schedule a meeting where they tell you what you are doing well, and what you could improve. This is also your opportunity to let your boss know what support you need to do a good job, and to ask for help in getting to place you want to be in your career.

9/9/2019 EQUITY & INCLUSIONAlright, let's talk about something serious for a moment. We are about to create a book that most students will keep for their lifetime. They will show their families, and when they are older they may have children and grandchildren of their own that they will share this with. We can't afford to make big mistakes. Please take a moment to carefully read the article below, and discuss with your neighbors.
EQUITY is the fair treatment, access, opportunity, and advancement for all people, while at the same time striving to identify and eliminate barriers that have prevented the full participation of some groups. Improving equity involves increasing justice and fairness within the procedures and processes of institutions or systems, as well as in their distribution of resources. INCLUSION Inclusion is the act of creating environments in which any individual or group can be and feel welcomed, respected, supported, and valued to fully participate. An inclusive and welcoming climate embraces differences and offers respect in words and actions for all people. It’s important to note that while an inclusive group is by definition diverse, a diverse group isn’t always inclusive. Increasingly, recognition of unconscious or ‘implicit bias’ helps organizations to be deliberate about addressing issues of inclusivity. Editors and Editors in ChiefsToday you will come up with a written equity plan on procedures to make sure this doesn't happen in your pages, AND to make sure our yearbook is equitable. This will become our formal policy that we will share with our principals.
9/5/2019 Let's Get Started!Alright, we are ending week 2! Let's assign some tasks for the next few weeks. We have pages we can start laying out, and surveys we can start to building. Take a look at these layout designs and see which ones speak to you. We also have our Padlet board a little further down on this page. We will have a quick meeting with our Editors in Chiefs, and do a round of "love it, hate it, keep it, change it" with our past books. 9/3/2019 Themes and LadderToday we are going to focus on assigning job titles, gathering a list of what should be included in the yearbook, and deciding which areas to focus on first. You will work with your Editor in Chief to discuss areas that are a priority, and the general structure of the yearbook pages and staff tasks.
