11/16/2020 Watercolor Topo MapsAre you ready to watercolor!? Watch this video for a quick project overview. STEP 1: TOPOGRAPHY MAPSUse these images to get a better understanding of topography. You will use these in the video above. STEP 2: WATERCOLORFollow along with the video, to make your watercolor path. You will want to let this dry overnight. STEP 3: CONTOUR LINESOnce your watercolor path is dry, start inspecting each colored area for different values. You will start CAREFULLY outlining areas that are darker or lighter than the surrounding colors. These contour lines will start creating a topo map of a world you've created! Pretty cool! What do you think your topo map would look like if it was a real place you could visit? Would it have steep mountain cliffs? Flat plains? Would it be easy to walk around in?

Your Project: Sugar Skull & MarigoldsUsing your blank sugar skull page, you will create a design that shows your understanding of Dia de los Muertos. You can use any medium you want; markers, crayons, colored pencil. Once your design is drawn and colored, you'll cut out your skull. Your next step is to make your paper marigold! I've attached a video for you to reference.
