| 1/21/2020 Critique: Responding to Artwork
Knowing the Elements of Art and Principles of Design can be helpful when discussing artwork. Use these images to help become more familiar with the basics. 1/6/2020 Gouache & WatercolorSkin Tone
How to Mix Colors With Gouache On your paint palette, gather small amounts of the colors you need. Usually, you will need less of the darker or cooler colors. (see the chart above) If I'm using violet and yellow as my base, I'll start by adding a very small amount of violet to my yellow. I'll continue doing this until the right base color appears. I may add a little green if it looks too red, or blue if it looks too orange. . . Because I have pale skin, I would load my paintbrush with the hue I made, and add it to my white. If it is still too light, I would add a bit more until it matches. It may dry a little darker. Once your brown looks like the right hue, decide how much white or black you will need to add.
