3/2/2020 VOTE
Expectations for today:This week, you are working on your Research and Emulate assignment. After placing your vote, please get to work finding your artists. Once you have an artist that you want to research, start getting to work! Reference our last post as a guide.
You will be assessed on your ability to conduct yourself with professionalism today. You will be expected to conduct yourself during class, as if you were in the industry at a job. With that said, you can reference our Professionalism Rubric on our Help page if needed. 2/28/2020 Research &Emulate: Movement
NOT SURE WHERE TO START? Think of something you are interested in that involves movement: sports, dance, wildlife, water, astrophysics. . . these are just a few examples. You could also search National Geographic magazine, MoMa, or other photography centered publications or galleries to find artists to study. Our Help page has an Inspiration button, try that out!
2/21/2020 Portfolio Check2/20/2020 Weekly Theme: MovementThis coming week, your 'A Photo A Day' theme is movement. The idea is to capture something in-motion, while maintaining quality focus, or intentional blur. This may require you to think about 'peak action' moments. You could play around with Burst Mode, time lapse, or long exposures as well.
YOUR PORTFOLIO
You will create a section on your My Photography Page with a title, three images, and a text box. Please title this section "Movement" and place your three favorite images that you took, and represent this week's theme. In the text box you will write a short description of this week's prompt, including your process. You may want to discuss why you chose the angles you shot from, which textures you found the most interesting, the struggles you had to overcome to get the perfect shot, or what you learned in the process. Design a photo series based on a color relationship. This week, you will create a color series with the photos you create for your Photo A Day. That means, all of the photos you take this week should fit into one of the color schemes listed below. You can use the links to research these, if you are not familiar with them. Choose color schemes that look good together, or you can use one color scheme for all of your photos. We will use Lightroom to help adjust the colors in your photos.
